Worldwide Power Products is a Best Place to Work

Here at Worldwide Power Products (WPP), we normally reserve our blog posts for  specific and equally beneficial topics relating to our industry. However, this time we are celebrating a special occasion in our company and would like to share it with all of our followers.

Recently, the Houston Business Journal included WPP as #23 on its list of the city’s best places to work in the 10 to 100 employee range. The announcement is a significant achievement and true honor for our company. At WPP, we have a tremendous amount of pride in supporting our employees by creating a welcoming and productive work environment for everyone to thrive. What’s more, we believe that this company-wide emphasis produces dividends towards the way we do business and the customers we serve.

During the nomination and evaluation process, the Houston Business Journal considered many companies when picking Worldwide Power Products for its list. Each of the 2012 honorees scored more than 80 out of 100 points. During the evaluation interview, the publication asked us:

What unique benefits and/or perks does your company offer its employees?”

We routinely reward our employees for significant contributions, whether it be a onetime event or for sustained excellence. Our rewards vary from gift cards, to tickets to sporting events, to iPads, to weekends away at a resort. Also, to celebrate 2011, WPP invited the entire employee staff and their families on a Texas Hill Country resort weekend of golf, spa, winery tours, and more.”

In addition to making it on the Houston Business Journal’s list of the best places to work, Worldwide Power Products received further accolades as one of the 101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work for in the Houston area. Adding to the list of notable acknowledgements WPP has received in 2012, WPP was also named one of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies by Inc. Magazine. In addition, WPP made the Inc. 5000 list, ranking number 9 in the Houston area, and number 25 in the energy category.

“Our team members are constantly going the extra mile and we make sure to do the same in return. It was this idea that inspired us to create a monthly WPP Employee recognition program. The theory behind the program was to allow the employees to recognize their coworkers for specific business related achievements while promoting cross-departmental collaboration.”

Commenting on the company’s continued success and achievements in 2012, WPP’s Executive VP Mark Lum went on to say, “It tells the world not only that we have a compelling business model and strong management team, but also that we are committed to creating a quality work environment for the employees who drive our success.”
